Why do people believe in horoscopes and astrology?
Several smart people I know read their horoscopes daily and make decisions based on astrology. There's no scientific basis for it. Why do otherwise rational people believe their personality and future are determined by stars and planets? Is it harmless fun or is there something concerning about it?

I used to have a strong opinion on this and then I lived in another part of the country for a few years and completely changed my mind. Travel does that. What seems obvious where you grew up isn't obvious everywhere.
This is one of those topics where there's no single right answer — it depends heavily on your values and circumstances. I'd encourage you to look at it from multiple perspectives before forming a strong opinion.
Honestly I think people overthink stuff like this. Just do what feels right to you and don't worry so much about what other people think. At the end of the day you have to live your own life, not theirs.
