What anime movie should I show someone who's never seen anime?
I want to introduce a friend to anime but they've never watched any and have some stereotypes about it. What's a good anime movie to start with that would change their mind? Something with great story and animation that doesn't feel too 'weird' for a first-timer. Any recommendations?

I've been into this hobby for over 10 years and the best advice I can give a beginner is: don't overthink it. Start with something affordable, learn the basics, and then upgrade once you know what you actually want and need.
Whatever you pick, the most important thing is that you actually enjoy it. There's no point owning the 'best' gear if you never use it. I've seen people get so caught up in specs that they forget to have fun with the hobby.
Don't spend a lot of money right away. The industry changes constantly and what's considered the best today will be outdated in a year or two. Start with a mid-range option and you'll be happy.
