Windows ME is the worst OS Microsoft has ever made. I get blue screens almost daily. System Restore doesn't help. Should I downgrade back to 98SE or just wait for XP?

Downgrade to 98SE immediately. ME removed the DOS layer which breaks loads of games and utilities. 98SE is far more stable.

If you have a spare license, Windows 2000 is rock solid — essentially NT5 consumer edition. Better than waiting for XP.

Update all your drivers first. ME's System Restore can corrupt itself — try disabling it, doing a clean boot, then re-enabling.

Went back to 98SE. Night and day difference. ME was an experiment that failed.
