AIM 4.7 keeps signing me out randomly, sometimes every 20 minutes. I'm on cable internet. Buddy list disappears too. It's driving me crazy — anyone solved this?

This happens when multiple sessions of AIM are logged in with the same screen name. Make sure you're not logged in at school or work too.

Also could be a firewall. Check if your router is blocking the AIM port (5190). Add an exception for it.

It was the router! Port 5190 wasn't listed but my router had an "application" setting for AOL Instant Messenger. Enabled it and it's been solid for 3 days.
