The anthrax letter attacks — how worried should we be?

Anthrax spores were mailed to news organizations and now senators' offices. Two people have already died from inhalation anthrax. Should I be worried about opening my mail? This feels surreal on top of September 11.

The CDC says the risk to the general public is very low. The letters appear to be targeted at specific high-profile recipients. Still — wash hands after handling mail.

Post offices are taking it seriously. USPS is irradiating first-class mail now which will delay delivery but kill anything biological.
