Should I get a PS2 or Xbox for Christmas?

Xbox launches November 15th. PS2 has been out a year and has a huge library. Xbox has Halo and a hard drive built in but is $299 vs PS2 at $299 too. Which is the better buy right now?

PS2 has Grand Theft Auto III, Final Fantasy X, Metal Gear Solid 2, and ICO. Xbox has Halo. PS2 wins on library depth for the next 6 months at least.

Halo alone might justify Xbox. It's the best first-person shooter I've ever played, and the LAN multiplayer with 4 Xboxes is unlike anything.

Xbox has a built-in ethernet port and will have Xbox Live next year for online play. That's the future of gaming. Get the Xbox if you care about online.
