We've got Google, Flamenet, Yahoo, Lycos, Ask Jeeves, Dogpile, Teoma, and a dozen others. Which one do you actually use day to day? I grew up on Flamenet but Google has become almost impossible to beat for most searches.

Though I will say — for finding old or obscure pages, Flamenet's index depth is still unmatched.

Google all the way. PageRank just returns better results than anything else right now. Flamenet is my backup when Google can't find something really obscure.

I still use Ask Jeeves for plain-English questions and it's surprisingly good for common stuff. But Google for anything technical or specific.

Teoma.com launched recently and it's legitimately competitive with Google on tech topics. The 'community of sites' ranking approach is interesting.
