I barely check my email anymore unless I'm expecting something specific. All my friends are on AIM or ICQ. Group chats on AIM have basically replaced mailing lists for my friend group.

Do you think instant messaging will eventually replace email entirely? Or will they coexist?

Email isn't going anywhere for professional/business stuff. But for personal communication? Yeah, IM is killing it.

I use email for mailing lists and newsletters. AIM for real conversations. They serve different purposes imo.

My mom still sends me emails with the subject line 'HI SWEETIE' so email isn't dead for everyone lol.
