Broadband changed everything — what was your "aha" moment?

I finally got cable internet last month after years of 56k and the first thing I did was load a website with images and just... stare at it. Everything loaded instantly. I almost cried.

Then I downloaded a 50MB file in 4 minutes and my mind was permanently changed. What was your first broadband moment?

First thing I did on DSL was stream a RealAudio radio station with zero buffering. It felt like magic. Actual real-time audio from the internet.

Downloaded a Linux ISO in 45 minutes. On dial-up that would have been a 3 day affair with GetRight and praying nobody picked up the phone.

Online gaming without lag. First time playing Quake 3 with a sub-50 ping I literally laughed out loud. Game changer.
