Still using the terrible speakers that came bundled with my old Compaq. Ready to upgrade. I don't need 5.1 surround, just a good stereo setup with a subwoofer for music and gaming.

Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 is $150 which is more than I want to spend. Anything comparable for under $100?

Cambridge Soundworks DTT2200. Around $80 and they sound incredible for the price. The subwoofer has real punch.

Altec Lansing ATP3 is the sweet spot at $50. Not audiophile quality but way better than any bundled speakers and the sub is decent.

Save up the extra $50 and get the Klipsch. Seriously. The difference is worth it and you'll keep them for years.
