Still playing EQ (level 58 Cleric on Brell Serilis) but my friends want me to try Ultima Online. EQ has better graphics and PvE but UO apparently has a deeper world simulation and more player freedom.

Is it worth switching? Or are they so different it's not really a comparison?

They're completely different games. EQ is a group-focused PvE themepark. UO is a sandbox where players drive the economy and politics. Both are amazing, just for different reasons.

EQ raids are the most epic gaming experiences I've ever had. 72-person raids in Planes of Power content are insane. UO can't match that scale of PvE.

UO's player housing and economy are something EQ will never match. I own a house near Britain and run a blacksmithing shop. It's like a second life.
