Tool — Lateralus is a masterpiece

Lateralus dropped this year and I have listened to it probably 100 times. The title track uses the Fibonacci sequence in its time signatures. The whole album is structured around mathematical patterns. It's art that also happens to be heavy. Schism's video is the trippiest thing I've seen since Aphex Twin. Where does this rank in Tool's discography for you? |

Top of their discography for me. Aenima was incredible but Lateralus feels like the band reaching their full potential. Every instrument is operating at peak level. |

The Grudge to Eon Blue Apocalypse to The Patient is one of the best album openers in rock history. Danny Carey is the best drummer alive. |

Lateralus (the song) gives me chills every single time. The build from the quiet opening to the crescendo is transcendent. Not a word I use lightly. |
