I'm still processing Aaliyah's death in August. She was 22. Her self-titled album that came out earlier this year was her best work. Rock the Boat, Try Again, Are You That Somebody — she was just hitting her creative peak.

The loss to R&B and music in general is immeasurable. What a talent.

Devastating loss. Her influence on R&B production and vocal style can't be overstated. She was genuinely pushing the genre forward.

22 years old. It's just not fair. Her music will live on but thinking about what could have been is heartbreaking.
