Been on a diet of heavy literary fiction and need something that'll actually make me laugh. What are your favorite funny books? Fiction or nonfiction, doesn't matter. Just want to enjoy reading without existential dread for once.

Bonus points if it's something I can read in a weekend.

Catch-22 by Joseph Heller if you haven't read it. The funniest book ever written about war. The circular logic will break your brain in the best way.

Good Omens by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman. The apocalypse but funny. If you like one or both authors, this is essential.

A Confederacy of Dunces by John Kennedy Toole. Ignatius J. Reilly is the most ridiculous character in literature. You'll love him and hate him simultaneously.

Anything by David Sedaris. Me Talk Pretty One Day is the one to start with. Short essays, genuinely laugh-out-loud funny.
