DVD has basically killed VHS at this point and I'm building my collection. Prices have come down a lot — most new releases are $15-20. I've got about 50 DVDs so far. What are the must-own DVDs for picture/sound quality? And is anyone else organizing theirs alphabetically or am I just that person? |

The Matrix DVD was one of the first great demo discs and it still looks incredible. Also Gladiator, The Fifth Element, and Toy Story 2 for reference-quality transfers. |

I organize by genre, then alphabetically within genre. Fight me. Also the special features on the LOTR DVDs are going to be legendary when they come out. |

Just hit 200 DVDs. My wife is questioning my priorities but when the special edition of The Phantom Menace was $10 at Best Buy, how do you say no? |
