The indie web is absolutely still alive, you just have to look harder. Webrings, personal sites, small forums like this one — they're out there. Don't let the corporations win.

AOL, Yahoo, and Microsoft want to turn the internet into cable TV with channels they control. That's always been the corporate vision. We have to actively resist it.

The solution is to make your own website. Seriously. Every person who builds a personal site is a vote against corporate homogenization.
