RAID 0 for gaming — worth the risk?

Thinking about setting up two 40GB drives in RAID 0 for faster game loading. The sequential read speed improvement is supposed to be significant. But if either drive fails, I lose everything. Is the speed gain worth the risk? Anyone running RAID 0 at home? |

RAID 0 for a gaming/OS drive and a separate single drive for backups and data. Best of both worlds. The speed difference in loading times is noticeable. |

The risk isn't worth it for most people. Get a single fast 7200RPM drive with a large cache and you'll be fine. RAID 0 is enthusiast territory. |
