Amazon has basically every book cheaper than retail. But I still love browsing Barnes & Noble or my local independent bookstore. There's something about physically handling books and discovering things on shelves that Amazon's recommendation algorithm can't replicate.

Anyone else still a bookstore person?

Bookstores are an experience, not just a transaction. I discover more interesting books browsing the New Fiction table at my local shop than I ever do online.

I browse at the bookstore, write down what I want, then buy it on Amazon for 30% less. I feel a little guilty but not guilty enough to stop.

Support your local independent bookstore if you have one. They're dying and the world will be poorer without them.
