The World Cup is next year in Korea/Japan and I want to actually care about it. But I know basically nothing about soccer. Which leagues should I follow? Which teams? Where do I start as an American who knows sports but not this one?

English Premier League is the most accessible for Americans. Fast-paced, lots of goals, and you can catch games on Fox Sports World. Pick Manchester United if you want easy mode.

The World Cup is the perfect entry point. You don't need to know anything — just root for the US team and enjoy the spectacle. The atmosphere is unlike any other sporting event.
