The World Cup is next year in Korea/Japan and I want to actually care about it. But I know basically nothing about soccer. Which leagues should I follow? Which teams? Where do I start as an American who knows sports but not this one? |

English Premier League is the most accessible for Americans. Fast-paced, lots of goals, and you can catch games on Fox Sports World. Pick Manchester United if you want easy mode. |

The World Cup is the perfect entry point. You don't need to know anything — just root for the US team and enjoy the spectacle. The atmosphere is unlike any other sporting event. |
