Flat-screen CRT monitors (like the Sony FW900 or ViewSonic P225f) have perfectly flat glass instead of the traditional curved surface. They cost 50-100% more than curved equivalents.

Is the flat glass worth it? I've heard they reduce glare and geometric distortion significantly. Anyone compared them side-by-side?

Flat panel CRT is the best of both worlds — CRT response times and color accuracy with flat glass for reduced distortion. If you can afford it, absolutely worth it.

I went from a curved 19-inch to a flat 19-inch Sony and the difference is immediately noticeable. Less eye strain, less glare, straighter lines. Would never go back.
