RtCW just came out and it's incredible. The single player campaign with the occult/WWII setting is unique and the gunplay is satisfying. The multiplayer team-based gameplay is also excellent — class-based objective modes are the future of FPS multiplayer.

Anyone else playing? The Engineer class in MP is so clutch.

The multiplayer is where this game really shines. Objective-based team play with classes is genuinely the next evolution of multiplayer FPS. Way more interesting than deathmatch.

The atmosphere in single player is incredible. The castle levels with the Nazi occult experiments are genuinely creepy. id Software hasn't lost their touch.

Between RtCW, Max Payne, and Halo, 2001 is an insane year for shooters. We're spoiled.
