Donnie Darko — did anyone else see this?

Donnie Darko came out very quietly this year and it's one of the most haunting films I've seen. Jake Gyllenhaal is remarkable. The blend of psychological thriller, science fiction, and coming-of-age drama is completely unique.

I've watched it twice and I'm still not sure I understand the ending. But that's part of the appeal. Anyone else catch this in theaters?

I saw it in a nearly empty theater and it felt like discovering a secret. This is going to be a cult classic. Gyllenhaal is going to be a huge star.

Mad World over the final sequence is one of the most devastating music-in-film moments I've experienced. Absolutely haunting.

The Frank the Bunny scenes are genuinely scary. This movie defies genre classification in the best way.
