Christopher Nolan's Memento tells its story in reverse chronological order and somehow it works perfectly. Guy Pearce is excellent as a man with no short-term memory trying to find his wife's killer. Every scene recontextualizes what you've already seen.

I've watched it three times and noticed new details each viewing. This is filmmaking at its most clever.

The structure isn't just a gimmick — it puts you in the protagonist's shoes. You're as confused as he is, which is the entire point. Genius.

Nolan is going to be a major director. Following was impressive but Memento is a masterclass. Can't wait to see what he does next.

The ending (beginning?) completely changes how you interpret the entire film. It's the rare movie that genuinely rewards rewatching.
