College student budget here. I have about $30/week for food. What are your best recipes that are genuinely tasty but dirt cheap? I've mastered rice and beans but I need more variety before I lose my mind. |

Fried rice. Leftover rice + egg + soy sauce + whatever vegetables you have. Costs about $1 per serving and tastes restaurant-quality with practice. |

Pasta aglio e olio. Spaghetti, garlic, olive oil, red pepper flakes, parsley. Literally 5 ingredients and it's incredible. Anthony Bourdain's go-to cheap meal. |

Potato soup. Potatoes, onion, butter, milk, salt. Absurdly cheap, filling, and comforting. Add cheese and bacon bits if your budget allows. |

Buy a whole chicken ($4-5), roast it one night, eat leftovers the next day, make stock from the carcass for soup on day 3. Three meals from one bird. |
