My setup is slightly different but I adapted this advice and it worked great.

Reduce entrance, add mouse guard, insulate in cold climates. Feed sugar syrup if stores are light. Fingers crossed for spring.

Peanut-shaped cells hanging from the bottom of frames. Swarm cells mean your bees want to leave. Emergency cells mean queenless.

I had the opposite experience actually. For me it was completely different.
