Layers, not bulk. A wicking base layer, fleece mid, and waterproof shell. Wet cotton will end your day fast.

Skiing is easier to start, harder to master. Snowboarding is brutal day one, then it clicks. Take a lesson either way.

Last years model board, used boots that fit perfectly, and basic bindings. Boots matter most - never cheap out on boots.

Buy lift tickets online in advance, ski midweek, and check for college nights. Resort prices at the window are a tourist trap.

Riding switch feels like starting over but it makes you a complete rider. Practice on green runs until it feels natural.
