Rediscovering the golden age of radio drama. Mystery, comedy, and adventure programs from the 1930s-50s. Theater of the mind never gets old.
Dave Modem   The art of the radio sound effect Sep 8, 2026 5:34 pm
Coconut shells for horse hooves, cellophane for fire. Live sound effects were an art form. Fascinating craft.

Avtoservis_inei   Listening as a family Aug 5, 2026 7:34 am
Radio drama is wonderful for the whole family - it works on car trips and dark winter evenings. Try it instead of TV.

Charlie Reeves   Radio comedy that still holds up May 28, 2026 6:34 am
Jack Benny, Burns and Allen, Fibber McGee and Molly. The timing and writing are masterful. Comedy is comedy.

Took me a while to wrap my head around this but it makes total sense now.

Charlie Reeves   Best old time radio mysteries Apr 12, 2026 4:34 am
Suspense, Inner Sanctum, and The Shadow. Radio horror used your imagination as the special effects. Nothing scarier.

My uncle does this for a living and he agrees 100% with what you said.
