Senior JavaScript Engineer

Netscape Communications is seeking a Senior JavaScript Engineer to join our rapidly growing browser team in Mountain View.

As part of the Navigator 6.x engineering team, you will work on cutting-edge web technologies including our proprietary rendering engine and emerging web standards. This is a rare opportunity to shape the future of the World Wide Web.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement new JavaScript features for Netscape Navigator 6
  • Collaborate with the Mozilla open source community
  • Write high-performance, cross-platform JavaScript and C++ code
  • Participate in code reviews and technical design meetings
  • Mentor junior engineers on browser internals

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional JavaScript development experience
  • Strong understanding of browser DOM, DHTML, and CSS
  • Experience with C or C++ preferred
  • Familiarity with the Gecko rendering engine is a plus
  • BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
