Welcome to my Linux page! I've been running Slackware since 1998 and I'll never go back to Windoze. Here you'll find tips on kernel compilation, bash scripting, and why open source will change the world.

>> LATEST NEWS <<
- Just compiled kernel 2.4.0 - SMP support is amazing!
- Got Apache + PHP working on my 486 DX2-66
- New section: Setting up a Samba file server

My Setup:
OS Slackware 7.1
CPU AMD K6-2 450MHz
RAM 128MB SDRAM
WM WindowMaker 0.62

Kernel Compilation Guide:
1. Download source from kernel.org
2. tar xvfz linux-2.4.0.tar.gz
3. cd /usr/src/linux && make menuconfig
4. Enable SMP, USB, and your sound card
5. make dep && make bzImage && make modules
6. make modules_install
7. Copy bzImage to /boot and update LILO

TIP: Always keep a backup kernel in LILO!
