What hobby should I pick up if I have a lot of free time?
My kids are grown and I suddenly have a lot of free time on my hands and I don't know what to do with it. I want a hobby but I don't know where to start. What are good hobbies for someone looking to fill time meaningfully? I'd like something I can do at home but also that gets me out of the house sometimes.

Personal preference plays a huge role here so take my recommendation with a grain of salt. What I love, you might hate. But based on what you described, I think you'd really enjoy what I'm about to suggest.
Check out dedicated forums and message boards for this topic. The communities are usually very welcoming to newcomers and can give much more detailed advice than a general Q&A site. Plus they have buyer's guides and FAQ sections.
