Palm Beach County's butterfly ballot confused thousands of voters. Pat Buchanan received 3,407 votes in a heavily Democratic county. The evidence is clear: those were intended for Al Gore.
What Needs to Change:
1. Abolish the Electoral College - Popular vote should decide
2. Standardize ballot design - No more butterfly ballots!
3. Update voting machines - Chad should be a name, not a ballot problem
4. Automatic voter registration - Make it easy to vote
5. Ranked choice voting - No more "spoiler" candidates
