Took my kids to see it opening weekend and honestly, as an adult who's read all the books, I was really impressed. Chris Columbus played it safe but the casting is perfect. Alan Rickman as Snape is inspired. Hogwarts looks exactly how I imagined it. Is it a masterpiece? No. But it's a faithful, charming adaptation that makes me excited for the series. Chamber of Secrets filming is already underway. |

The Quidditch match was everything I hoped for. Seeing that on the big screen was magical. The whole audience was cheering. |

Rickman steals every scene he's in. Perfect Snape. Also Maggie Smith as McGonagall — inspired casting across the board. |

My only complaint is it felt a bit rushed in the third act. But for adapting a 300-page book into 2.5 hours, they did an excellent job. |
