Consistent ID3 tags are everything. I use a tag editor to fix artist, album, and track number before importing. Saves headaches later.

Best bitrate for ripping CDs

128kbps is acceptable but 192kbps is the sweet spot of quality and file size. With cheap hard drives now, why not go 192?

Hard drive players skip when you run. A 256MB flash player holds enough songs for a workout and never skips. Worth a second device.

The iPod has the slick interface but the Nomad holds more and works without iTunes. Mac users love the iPod, PC users are split.

Got a head unit that reads MP3 CDs - 150 songs on one disc! Cassette adapters work too if you have an older car.
