Reading lane conditions

Fresh oil plays tight, broken-down lanes hook more. Watch where others are throwing and adjust your line accordingly.

Picking up the dreaded 7-10 split
Jul 28, 2026 1:22 am
The 7-10 is nearly impossible but the 3-10 baby split is very makeable. Spare shooting is where leagues are won.

House ball vs your own ball

A drilled-to-fit ball transformed my game. The house balls fingers never fit right. Best $100 a bowler can spend.

Improving your average

Consistency beats power. Repeat the same approach, same release, every time. A repeatable spare game adds 20 pins fast.

Tried three different approaches before this one worked. Persistence pays off.

League night etiquette

One bowler on the approach at a time. Let the lane next to you finish first. Stay positive even when the pins wont fall.

Adding one tip: make sure you double-check everything before you start. Trust me.

My experience: it depends on your specific situation but generally this is good advice.

This reminds me of a similar situation I had. The solution was patience.
