I'm in the same boat. JavaScript can do some amazing things but don't overdo it. Some people have it disabled.

Slightly off topic, Geocities is fine for a first site. Don't listen to the haters.

I have the same one and love it. Always optimize your images. No one wants to wait 2 minutes for a page to load on 56k.
