Long time reader, first time poster. This group has saved me so much time.
Eve Packet   Building a Gotek floppy emulator Dec 28, 2026 6:21 am
Replace your floppy drive with a USB-based emulator. Load disk images from a thumb drive. $25 and 30 minutes of work.

Anyone else having this issue? I thought it was just me.

Solid advice. Been doing it the hard way for years - this is so much better.
Charlie Reeves   BBS nostalgia and modern BBS revival Dec 8, 2026 6:21 am
Telnet BBSes are still running! Synchronet and Mystic BBS software keep the tradition alive. Dial-in with a terminal emulator.

Warning to others: I tried a shortcut and it did NOT end well. Follow the instructions exactly.
Eve Packet Dec 12, 2026 3:21 am
Adding to this: you can also try a different approach that worked for me...
Charlie Reeves Dec 14, 2026 11:21 am
Honestly this should be in the FAQ. Beginners ask this every single week.
Bob Nakamura   Floppy disk preservation Nov 28, 2026 6:21 pm
Using Kryoflux and Greaseweazle to image old floppies before they degrade. Time is running out for many disks.

The more I read about this the more I realize how much I dont know. Humbling!
Dave Modem Dec 3, 2026 8:21 pm
Been doing this for years. Can confirm it is worth the effort.
Donna Vasquez Dec 4, 2026 6:21 am
Has anyone else tried this? I am curious about other experiences.
Avtoservis_gmei   My Commodore 64 restoration Nov 25, 2026 11:21 pm
Found a C64 in a closet. Dead power supply (common), replaced caps, new keyboard membrane. Boots up perfectly now!
