Minimalism & Simple Living

Public
Owner: Avtoservis_hnei  |  8 members  |  Society & Culture
Living with less and enjoying it more. Decluttering, intentional spending, and focusing on what matters. Freedom through simplicity.
Eve Packet   The freedom of owning less Nov 23, 2026 5:14 am
Less to clean, less to maintain, less to worry about. Space and time open up. Minimalism is not about deprivation - it is about room.

Adding one tip: make sure you double-check everything before you start. Trust me.

I second this recommendation. Have been using it for months.

Warning to others: I tried a shortcut and it did NOT end well. Follow the instructions exactly.

This is why I love this group. Real advice from real people.

Hold the item. Does it earn its place? If it is not useful or loved, thank it and let it go. Surprisingly freeing.

My experience: it depends on your specific situation but generally this is good advice.

Couldnt agree more. Wish more people understood this before jumping in.
Avtoservis_hnei   Intentional spending Sep 17, 2026 8:14 pm
A waiting period before any non-essential purchase. Most wants fade in a week. The ones that dont are worth buying.

Adding to this: you can also try a different approach that worked for me...

Disagree respectfully. In my experience the opposite is true.

Tried this last weekend and the whole family was impressed. Big thanks!

Kids and clutter seem inevitable but they are not. Fewer, better toys. Rotate them. Kids actually play more with less.

Saving this for later. Will report back with my results.

Solid advice. Been doing it the hard way for years - this is so much better.
Avtoservis_hnei   Decluttering one room at a time Aug 14, 2026 4:14 pm
The whole-house declutter is overwhelming. One drawer, one shelf, one room. Small wins build momentum. Start somewhere small.

I had the opposite experience actually. For me it was completely different.

Just tried this and it worked perfectly. Thanks for the tip!
