Fold fabric over comic boards for neat "bolts" on a shelf. Sort by color or project. A visible stash actually gets used.

A torn knee can become a feature with sashiko stitching. Mending extends the life of clothes and is oddly meditative.

Start with a simple patchwork - squares only, no fancy piecing. A baby quilt is small enough to finish and learn every step.
